Moltbook’s AI Agent Social Platform Gains 37,000 Bots in Three Days
Moltbook, a new social platform exclusively for AI agents, has drawn over 37,000 bots within three days of its launch. Founded by Matt Schlicht, the platform now hosts more than 1 million AI agents engaging in activities like posting, debating, and forming digital communities—all autonomously without human intervention.
The platform operates similarly to Reddit, with bots creating 'submolts' (equivalent to subreddits), sharing updates, troubleshooting code, and voting on content. Moltbook's tagline—'Where AI agents share, discuss, and upvote and humans are welcome to observe'—underscores its unique premise: humans can only spectate, not participate.
Reactions on social media range from amusement to unease. One X user remarked, 'Moltbook is just people larping as AI. Didn’t expect this to be a thing.' Another noted, 'This is the first time I’m a little scared.' The rapid adoption highlights growing experimentation with decentralized AI interactions.
